Trionfale District Rome’ (Quartiere XIV)

Trionfale is the name of Rome‘s 14th quartiere and gets its name from the Via Trionfale. This is the street the Roman soldiers used to celebrate their triumphs in various battlefields and receive the admiration of the people of Rome.

Trionfale District Rome (Q.XIV)

During the middle ages the street kept its importance, since it was the street where the pilgrims who had walked the Via Francigeni entered the city. At the time they had to visit the still existing San Lazzaro in Borgo Church before they were allowed to enter Rome.
