Cisterna delle Sette Sale Rome

In the Colle Oppio park near the Colosseum in Rome there are some ruins of the Terme di Traiano (Baths of Trajan), which were constructed for the emperor by Apollodoro in 110 AD. Near the southern entrance to the park, across from the parking lot, the Cisterna delle Sette Sale is visible. This is the cistern where the water for the baths was collected. Circus Maximus Rome

It is a pity that it is not possible anymore to view Rome‘s Circus Maximus in all its splendor, since it is probably the biggest venue of all time with a width of 140 meters and a length of around 600 meters. Palatine Hill Rome

The Palatino (“Palatine Hill”) is one of the famous seven hills of Rome. It was the first one that was inhabited. According to legend Romulus founded Rome on its slopes, in the year 753 BC. Some years ago the Lupercale, the cave where Remus and Romulus are thought to have been fed by the she-wolf, was discovered.

Auditorium di Mecenate Rome

The Auditorium di Mecenate is a small monument near the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in the Esquilino area of Rome. The monument is located inside a small public garden, which is never open. The monument, which was found in 1874, used to be covered by a vaulted ceiling, but now has a modern roof. The main hall measures 13 by 24 meters and ends in a semi-circular apse. Forum of Caesar Rome

Caesar’s Forum is one of the Imperial Fora and is situated at the foot of the Capitol Hill, near the Roman Forum. In order to build here he had to have other buildings like the Curia Hostilia and the Comtium relocated. Other, private dwellings were purchased and subsequently demolished.
