As always, in the period immediately preceding the Christmas holidays there will be extra buses in Rome in order to facilitate access to the historical center of the city.
Christmas Shopping in Rome (2013)
From December 8 until December 24 there will be a special bus line, called Shopping 1, which will follow a 7,5 km circular route and will be completely free.
A bus will pass every 7 minutes and all the major shopping streets of Rome will be reached, as well as some important metro stops, normal public transportation hubs and parking garages.
The Shopping 1 bus line will run from 11.30 AM until 8.30 PM (except on December 24th, when it will run only till 6.30 PM) and there will be stops in the following streets:Â Via di Porta Pinciana, Via Crispi, Via Sistina, Piazza TrinitÃ dei Monti, Viale G. D’Annunzio,Â Piazza del Popolo, Via di Ripetta, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Via Tomacelli, Brianzo, Rinascimento,Â Teatro Valle, Minerva, Collegio Romano, Chigi, Via del Tritone, Via Veneto, Porta Pinciana. The first and last stop is in the Piazza delle Canestre.
FreeRomaPass Shopping Bus 2015
Unlike in previous years, the Shopping1 Bus will not continue after the holiday period, though it will be replaced (during the first week of the Rome winter sales period until January 10th) by the FreeRomaPass, an electrical bus.
