Until October 15, 2011 the Complesso Vittoriano in Rome will host the exhibition Colours of the Avant-garde. Romanian Art: 1910-1950.

Romanian Avant-Garde Art 1910-1950

The exhibition consists of 74 oil paintings by 24 different artists. The pieces are on loan from some of Romania’s most important museums, and is an inititiative of the Romanian Embassy in Rome.

The better-known of the artists (Tzara, Segal, Brauner, Ianco, Mattis-Teutsch) whose works are shown spent most of their artistic lives working abroad and the avant garde movement reached Romania relatively late.

The exhibition will last until October 15, 2011 and admission is free. The Complesso Vittoriano can be visited from Monday till Sunday and the opening hours are from 9.30 AM until 7.30 PM. Tickets can be bought until 1 hour before closing time.
