Great Venice. Exhibition in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome (October 2011)

“Great Venice. Lands and People, to Instanbul and Alessandria” is the name of the exhibition that is held in the Spazio Fontana of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome.

The exhibition will start on September 30 and finish on October 24 2011 and is part of the third edition of the Festival of Travel Literature, this year themed “Towards the Orient, Towards the Levant”.

Among the objects on display are both old maps of the area and antique atlasses as well as modern photographs. The subject matter extends to all the lands that were once under the influence of the then city state of Venice.

There will be 12 rare and exteremly precious books and atlasses (edited between the 16th and 19th centuries), some of which will have reproductions beside them that can be viewed by visitors to the exhibition.
