Mirò (Chiostro del Bramante, 2012)

The title of the exhibtion is Mirò! Poetry and Light (Mirò! Poesia e luce) and there will be more than 80 paintings to be seen, more than half never displayed in Italy before.

Apart from the paintings there are also works made of terracotta, bronzes and water paintings.

The exhibition focuses mainly of the last period of Miró’s work as an artist, starting in Majorca in 1956 when he managed to create his own studio. This studio, reconstructed, can also be seen at the exhibition in Rome.

The best known works presently exhibited at the Chiostro del Bramante include Woman in the Street (1973) and Untitled (1967). There are also a number of sketches, including the ones Mirò made for the Harkness Commons-Harvard University.
