The MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Arts has just acquired an installation by the Italian artist Marisa Merz, around which an exhibition has been organized.
About Marisa Merz (MAXXI, Until 6 January 2013)
The installation is titled Untitled and is the central point of Gallery 4 of the museum. Using materials like clay, copper and paper Merz has created a interesting work of art, with a central clay head in the middle of a number of copper sheets that reflect a number of female figures standing around it.
Marisa Merz is known as one of the major exponents of the Arte Povera movement, to which another exhibtion is dedicated in Rome (Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, until 4 March 2012).
The exhibition is titled A Proposito di Marisa Merz (About Marisa Merz) and will last until January 6, 2013.
