Leonardo Da Vinci. Science before Science
The exhibition is an attempt to show the relationship between Leonardo and his 15th and 16th century contemporaries. Starting with his education in Tuscany, via the time he spent in Milan to his final years in Rome,
The various sections of the exhibition explore the artist’s various interests, such as the development of machines for big construction works, the use of design and perspective and the fight between tradition and innovation.
Of course Leonardo’s at the time futuristic flying machines are also part of the exhibition.
Further themes are his ideas about the ideal city, the study of waterways and the rediscovery of antiquity.
