The Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome is hosting an exhibition honoring the Catalan architect Antonio Gaudi.

The exhibition will last until January 15 2011 and will mainly focus on the work that made Gaudi world famous, his Sagrada Basilica in Barcelona.

The title of the exhibition is “Gaudi and the Sagrada Familia. Art, Science and Spirituality“.

It is divided into 6 sections, the majority dealing with the architect’s best known masterpiece: Gaudi and the Sagrada Familia, Art, Other Buildings by Gaudi, Science, Technology in the Sagrada Familia and finally La Sagrada Familia Spirituality Nowadays.

The 850 m2 Charlemagne Hall of Saint Peter’s Basilica will be filled with panels, photos, models, plans, as well as furniture and liturgical objects designed by Gaudi.

A big part of the objects displayed is on loan from the Museum of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona itself.

Admission is free and the opening hours are the ones of Saint Peter’s Basilica itself.
