History and description
Its first opening was in 1925, however at a completely different address, the Palazzo Caffarelli on the Capitol Hill.
The Gallery aims to document the contemporary art scene by means of an ever increasing collection, which has over the years enriched the already impressive 1925 core exhibition.
The period covered ranges from the mid 19th century till after the end of World War II.
“Places, Figures, Still Lifes. Works of the Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Roma Capitale” was the title of the first exhibition after the reopening of the museum in October 2011.
