Open Italian Tennis Championships (Foro Italico, May 10-18, 2014)

The 70th edition of the Open Italian Tennis Championships, after the four Grand Slam Tournaments, considered one of the most beautiful and important ones in the world, will start on Saturday May 10, 2014 and the final will be held on Sunday May 18.

As always, the event is held at the Foro Italico, near the Olympic Stadium in Rome and the highest ranking players of the world (Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Venus and Serena Williams and of course the Italian favcorite Francesca Schiavone) are expected to be present.

The Foro Italico has no less than 11 courts, 3 of which are for practicing only. The main courts are the Centre Court and Court 1 – Nicola Pietrangeli, named for Italy’s greatest tennis player ever and twice winner of the Roland Garros French open Championship.

The tournament is officially called the Internationali BNL d’Italia and it is already possible to buy tickets for the event, by contacting the Foro Italico Ticket Office (800.622662 from Italy, or +39 0636854211 from outside the country). Online purchases are possible through www.federtennis.it.
