Dali. An Artist. A Genius (Complesso Vittoriano, Until 30 June 2012)

Salvador Dali (1904-1989) was one of the most renowned surrealist artists and, though his talents were diverse, was best known as painter and film maker.

The exhibition is held in collaboration with the Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation and will focus on the artist’s relationship with Italy.

By means of various objects such as documents, drawings and photographs Dali’s Italian travels are evoked and various artistic collaborations, such as the ones with the actress Anna Magnani and the movie director Luchino Visconti are documented.

Of course the painter Dali is also represented, with 150 works, many on loan from famous museums such as the Booijmans-Van Beuningen and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection.
